Summer Course Spotlight: GLBL496 Global Experience Practicum

Plan to graduate next year? Haven't gone abroad? Take this

There are still seats available in this Summer's GLBL 496: Global Experience Practicum. This 3 credit course will meet Summer Session 1 (4 weeks: 30 May-June 23) in hybrid format Thursday evenings from 4:30-7 and is perfect for those who haven't yet had the chance to go abroad of haven't yet solidified their plans to go abroad; it serves as an alternate path to meeting the GLBL Study Abroad requirement! Still hoping to go abroad next Spring or later? Not sure about your study abroad plans at this time?  You can still take this course as one of your GLBL electives, and it provides an excellent foundation in the cross-cultural competencies that will serve you well in your future travels.

This course is taught through an experiential learning framework, the goal of which is to enhance global competence skills and instill a spirit of civic engagement in Global Studies majors. The curriculum is aimed at the enhancement of global competency skills and the provision of knowledge and experience in advocacy work in a global-local community setting. 

Please note that this course will next be offered in Spring 2024, if you hope to graduate on or before next spring and do not have plans to go abroad in academic year 2023/24, it is strongly encouraged that you sign up for this course as a way of meeting the GLBL Global Experience requirement and will not delay your graduation.
